Greetings fellow travelers,
This past week I wrote 6/7 Morning Pages. I experimented once and typed my Morning Pages to see how many I could type in 30 minutes. I discovered I could type 1.557 words. I didn’t realize I wrote so much it’s almost the same amount recommended for NaNoWriMo which is 1,667 words per day. I am considering doing a writing streak http://writingstreak.org in May to keep track of how much I write. Between my Morning Pages, my long term goals, and my Map I am working on I want to keep track of my writing progress.
Someone sent me a challenge to write a blog on a schedule at Blog Me Maybe http://www.julianahaygert.com/2012/blog-me-maybe. I am debating about whether or not I want to take on this particular challenge. I know I am already going to be writing a lot without doing daily blogs. Part of me wants to try it though to see what would happen and if traffic to my blog site would increase or not. I am still thinking about this.
After recommendation of a fellow Artist’s Way Circle member, I downloaded and am trying out Scrivener tool for writers for 30 days. Scrivener is a ring-binder, a scrapbook, a corkboard, an outliner and text editor all rolled into one. So far, I have imported my “Two Step” novel draft after I read a delicious email from Lindsey Grant of NaNoWriMo about the beauty of revising your novel. I have been reluctant to revise my novel and have put it off for four years since “Two Step” has been written. Hopefully, I can figure out how to break my novel down into smaller pieces. Also, I started another project in Scrivener I am titling My Map that plans my goals for the next five years of my artist journey. Hopefully, with a Map I can better see where I am going.
My Artist’s Date I have read five chapters in “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle. I had previously watched a video series between Oprah and Eckhart Tolle discussing the book. Now I finally have the book and time to read it. I have been making notes in the margins. A synchronicity is that a friend of mine emailed me and said she just received that same book. I raised the idea of us both going through the book together. She said if she had questions she would ask me.
I walked around my building for 20 minutes. As I walked I loved the crisp air of spring which is my favorite season and is great for walking. I came around the bend and I saw a bunny.
Issues of recovery is taking baby steps towards my dreams. I don’t have to do everything today. I can make some priorities. I have other writing projects, but I decided My Map is important to me first.
Greetings fellow travelers,
I am just a simple artist seeking others to walk the Artist’s Way with me online in one or more of my online Artist’s Way Circles which are FREE. We’re starting a NEW 12 week Artist’s Way journey starting June 28, 2010. This will be my 11th Artist’s Way journey and I have been walking the Artist’s Way for 14 years. I am currently working on editing and rewriting my novel “Two Step” which is a story of a Native American woman finding herself, her higher power, and true love. I am also writing a publishing plan to publish “Two Step.” Everyone is welcome on this journey, but I am especially looking for other novelists and writers to walk with me so I can connect with as I work on my book.
I wanted to share with you that I started The Artist’s Way Circle. I started this circle 10 years ago from a wheelchair in a lot of pain suffering mental health symptoms due to a breakdown that caused me to have to drop out of art college. I craved connection to other artists so I dreamnt of an online artist’s way circle. So, I reached out to those traveling the artist’s way through my computer then was born The Artist’s Way Circle.
Thanks in advance,

I made the earrings that I am wearing in the video! Yay!
My favorite NaNoWriMo writing buddy isn’t doing a novel for November. I need NaNoWriMo writing buddies. Add me as azurebreeze at:
Coinciding with my 10th Artist’s Way journey is the writing of my 4th novel through the NaNoWriMo writing challenge for the month of November. It’s 50,000 words in less than 30 days in November. My romance story is called Enigma. Kira gets a vision while smudging and her entire world is turned upside down as the Great Mystery begins to speak to her. What else will she find?
Alright today is the official beginning of my 10th Artist’s Way. I already feel great energy surrounding and propeling me forward. I have been hitting the streams with powerful driving music and I find myself dancing through my entire house. I sure I am a sight to see. I am filled with enthusiasm and great rejuvenated hope. I earned a brand new fresh Artist’s Way book. I am interested to see what my new insights I will notice as I begin to read this brand new book with a highlighter in hand. I am excited.
My face to face group has some really dear friends coming along for the ride. It’s awesome to be a part of such a powerful circle. If you don’t have a face to face circle yet seek one out. If you can’t find one try forming one. It’s a life altering experience.
This 10th Artist’s Way journey I am using the means to honor the memory of my Blackfoot artist friend Steve who committed suicide almost 10 years ago. I want to honor his memory by being the happy artist I know he would want me to be and to share the Artist’s Way with others. So in honor of the charchoal drawings we made, the hours studying for art history together, and to Wings of Desire we watched Steve you inspired me. This Artist’s Way walk is for you Steve may your memory as an artist live on.
